The Class of ’67: Hollywood Changes Film Series is hosted by the Lindo Theatre in partnership with the Stephenson County Museum and Highland Community College. It is designed to offer movie-goers the experience of viewing time-honored American Film classics along with the opportunity to discuss various aspects of each film. Admission is $6 per movie.
Cool Hand Luke:
Luke Jackson is a cool, gutsy prisoner in a Southern chain gang, who, while refusing to buckle under to authority, keeps escaping and being recaptured. The prisoners admire Luke because, as Dragline explains it, "You're an original, that's what you are!" Nevertheless, the camp staff actively works to crush Luke until he finally breaks.
The films in the series have been selected with the assistance of Dr. Ed Finch the Retired Executive Director for the Stephenson County Museum and Alan Wenzel the Retired Speech Communications Instructor for Highland Community College. They will introduce each movie and lead a discussion afterward. Movie-goers are encouraged to stay after the movie to participate in this exchange.
