The After Hours Film Society is a registered 501(c)(3) not-for-profit cultural organization formed to encourage the appreciation of cinema, both as an art and as a medium of information and education. Our mission is to provide the suburban community with first class foreign, art and independent films that otherwise would not be offered locally. Visit the offical AHFS Website for more information.
The Critics Classics at the Elk Grove Theatre is in conjunction with the Chicago Film Critics Association. Each film is selected by the member of the CFCA who will host with an introduction and a short Q&A after the show. The films will run the 2nd Wednesday of the Month at 7:00 PM.
Art @ York - York Theatre
In response to many requests over the years for more art at the York Theatre, we are beginning special screenings on the second Wednesday of every month at 1:00 & 7:00 PM. General Admission. Come early for preshow entertainment at 12:30 PM on our baby Barton Theatre organ with Dave Rhodes, Tivoli Theatre house organist.
First Tuesday Film Club - Lake Theatre
Established in April 2012 the First Tuesday Film Club presents art and foreign films as well as documentaries once a month at 10AM, noon and 7:00 PM. The response to this “club” whose aim is to simply provide some alternate movies on a regular basis at our regular prices – no dues required – has been very gratifying. Flyers are available at the Lake and a description of each film is included on this website.
