Woodstock hosts tribute to Harold Ramis

Staff Report

The Woodstock Theatre in Woodstock, Illinois will be hosting a three-day film tribute to Chicago native Harold Ramis from March 13-15. Ramis is often regarded as one of the most successful comedy writers of his time, and he filmed his movie Groundhog Day in Woodstock. After filming the movie he later wrote a letter thanking the community for supporting the film. Classic Cinemas named a newly renovated auditorium in Ramis’ honor in the historic Woodstock Theatre. The letter he wrote to the community hangs in the theatre.

The theatre will show digitally remastered versions of Ghostbusters, National Lampoon’s Animal House, and Stripes in the Harold Ramis Auditorium during the tribute. The showtimes for the movies are as follows: Ghostbusters at 1 p.m. on March 13; Stripes at 7 p.m. on March 14; and National Lampoon’s Animal House at 7 p.m. on March 15. All seats for the showings are $6 and seating is limited.
